Community engagement, a commitment to a more sustainable future and a desire to do business responsibly and ethically are qualities that are now prerequisites for businesses.
Customers, partners, investors, banks and other stakeholders all expect to see these values reflected across every aspect of a business’s governance and operation, from the way they recruit, manage and support wellbeing of their staff, to energy saving measures, to ensuring responsibility throughout the supply chain.
What was previously known as CSR (Community Social Responsibility) has now broadened out into ESG – Environment and Social Governance.
Every business should not only have a clear ESG policy, but also should communicate this internally and externally to increase awareness of the progress made so far, what’s left to do, and the measures being taken to achieve it.
Polymedia supported the water handling and treatment specialist Workdry International in doing just that – working with the team to produce an informative, accessible and immaculately designed report that clearly demonstrated how the group and its Siltbuster and Selwood brands was working towards Net Zero.
The report was informed by a group-wide exercise to formalise its ESG pillars, measure environmental impact, audit suppliers, refine policies and set out a Road to Net Zero. It also highlighted community work including a fundraising campaign that generated more than £50,000 for local communities.
The report was published following an exciting chapter of growth in the UK, Europe and USA, including additions to the leadership team and the group’s acquisitions of Vanderkamp in the Netherlands and Holland Pump in the United States.
Dan Lee, Workdry CEO, said: “Together, we are shaping a future where sustainability, ethical governance, and social responsibility are at the core of our operations. This period of transformation enables us to embed ESG principles even more deeply across our expanded business, positioning us as an industry leader and reaffirming our commitment to creating lasting value for our stakeholders, employees, and the communities we serve.”
