Hayley Elston, AKA The Codmother from The Fabulous Catch Company in the New Forest in Hampshire, makes and sells a range of award-winning gourmet, hand-mixed fishcakes and fishy delicacies.
She approached Polymedia looking for a website to reflect the quality of their artisan products and to tell their story – one of locality, provenance, produce and sustainability – all with a touch of Michelin Stardust.
Hayley started her ‘sustainable revolution’ over a decade ago on the Isle of Wight to support local fishermen from the then Yarmouth Fishermen’s Association.
Their white crab meat flew of the shelves, but the tasty brown crab meat wasn’t so popular with consumers and would often go to waste.
Passionate about sustainability, Hayley, along with her business partner and Michelin starred chef, Herbert Berger, decided to use this taste sensation in fishcakes which Hayley would sell at artisan and farmers markets across the south.
Her latest achievement, which was to propel her into the headlines, was to win the Channel 4 TV programme and competition Aldi’s Next Big Thing.
Professional, specialist food photography, instructed and directed by polymedia made an enormous difference to the online offering and a stunning web design and new online shop is now supported with social media channels on Facebook and Instagram.
