Filming reaches 2 million international travelling foodies
Polymedia recently welcomed a crew from one of India’s biggest news and lifestyle networks to The New Forest.
Working in partnership with VisitBritain and Tourism South East, we arranged for New Delhi TV’s popular food and travel TV show, ‘Will Travel For Food’, to film the Forest’s foodie hotspots – in advance of The New Forest’s first ever Food & Drink Festival.
Hosted by Aneesha Baig, and broadcast on NDTV 25×7, ‘Will Travel For Food’ is the finest eating out guide for Indians in India and across the world. It explores different destinations through their culinary habits and history. In 2013, the show won the Best Lifestyle Show at India’s National Television Awards.
As well as falling in love with the English countryside and The New Forest’s famous ponies, Aneesha indulged in an award-winning afternoon tea at the Montagu Arms in Beaulieu, learnt how to make cheese at Lyburn Cheese, and was treated to a taster menu at Beresford’s Restaurant at the Balmer Lawn Hotel.
The resulting programme, ‘Feasting in the British Countryside’, was aired to over two million TV viewers around India on NDTV 24×7 – a major news TV channel in India.
NDTV 24×7 reaches 40 million households domestically and is the only English News Channel from India which is beamed in the UK, USA, Canada, South Africa, Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, Mauritius and most of the SAARC Countries to reach out to the Indian diaspora reaching 25 million households outside of India, including 11 million in the UK.
