Record breakers always make for good media. They can also make for great community engagement, exposure through partnerships and footfall generation. An initiative for Polymedia client, The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu ticked all those boxes.
Children and car enthusiasts looking to take part took their toy car to be part of the Longest Line of Toy Cars in the grounds of the Motor Museum, thousands of toy cars came flooding into collection points at Sainsbury’s supermarkets across the south coast as well as Naomi House charity shops and many schools.
They were used to form a record-breaking line-up in and around the National Motor Museum beating the record of 14,310 cars set in Germany.
The cars were then sold and the proceeds donated to Hampshire’s Naomi House and Jacksplace hospices which care for children and young adults – and brought the support and endorsement from celebrities such as Matt Le Tissier and Quentin Wilson.
